The Industrial and Practical Arts in the Bethlehem Area School District teach students skills, knowledge, and practices that align with Pennsylvania's Career Ready Skills. Students have opportunities to take courses in Family and Consumer Science and the Industrial Arts at both the middle and high school levels.
Middle School Family and Consumer Science courses teach students to cook and prepare food, as well as design and work with clothing. Middle School Industrial Arts include courses in woodcraft, engineering and design, applied technology, and robotics in a workshop environment where students collaborate, design, and create.
At the high school level, the Family and Consumer Sciences include courses in early childhood learning and child development, cooking and food preparation both domestically and internationally, food and nutrition, interior design, fashion design, and tourism and hospitality. The Industrial Arts include woodcraft, stagecraft, and graphic arts. All courses can be found in the BASD Program of Studies.
